The 2018 GBR Open National Championships will be held before and during the Lymington Regatta.
Lymington is a very attractive Georgian market town surrounded by the New Forest National Park, and is a popular holiday destination in its own right.
Dinghy launching is down a short slipway into the river, and a short sail brings you to the open waters of the West Solent.
The schedule is:
- 1 day practice and coaching Thursday 5 July, supported by volunteer RIBs for rescue, video and practice starts, but not a formal practice race
- Day 1 racing Friday 6-July on our own course, with our own race team formed from our friends at LTSC
- Days 2 & 3 racing Saturday 7/Sunday 8 July within the Lymington Regatta Fast Fleet with our own start
- The coaching debiref will include fish and chips to aid recovery. Entry also includes a D-One social event on the Friday evening, and the full Regatta party on the Saturday night.
- Both clubs and their facilities, bars and restaurants are open to all competitors and their guests throughout the event..
The Lymington Dinghy Regatta is jointly hoisted by Lymington Town SC and Royal Lymington YC . It has grown in scale over the last few years and now sells out very quickly to its maximum 120-boat entry, The D-One Association will block book entries to ensure all those who wish to attend can do so. Entry details will be available in due course.

Winter-Training-Idea
Experience shows, that winter training is one of the most effective and efficient ways to prepare ambitious sailors for the next sailing season. Sailing camps in Palamos/Spain will be organized and performed by Stefan Hess
The idea is: Charter a boat (2 D-Ones) or come with your own boat and you have a perfect sailing week.
Concept
The participants will be challenged with all senses. Training Schedule is tight and includes all necessary aspects to achieve substantial progress according to the agreed individual goals.
The group consists of 4 to 6 sailors max.
Charter boats will be offered at attractive weekly rates. The boats are as new, fully equipped and serviced. Sailors shall only bring their own sails. If this is not possible, top-quality sails will be available.
Location
The meetings will take place in Palamos/Spain. This location offers an ideal training venue with easy access to the international Airport Barcelona (120km) or Girona airport, only 35km away. The Costa Brava is one of the most attracting tourist areas around the Mediterranean Sea and offers reasonable accommodation close to the club facilities.
Stable wind conditions provide daily sailing. Temperatures vary between 15 and 20 C° and the special situation of Palamos at the headlands of the COSTA BRAVA offer a choice of wave conditions - from short chop in the bay to long rolling waves further offshore.Water temperature is around 15-17C°.

- Monday to Friday: training at 9:30 - approx. 16:00
- Saturday: departure
The goals for the training will be set individually in order to fit each sailors needs and will accomodate beginners as well as top sailors. The schedule will follow the physical potential of each sailor.

Charter boats will be offered at attractive weekly rates. The boats are as new, fully equipped and serviced. Sailors shall only bring their own sails. If this is not possible, top-quality sails will be available.

DESCRIPTION:\N2021 Championnat des Alpes\NAVAL-CDV, Gravedona, Lago di Como\N \NUPDATE 2020-05-03\NDue to the continuing difficulties of organising group events, AVAL-CDV have asked the Classe Italiane D-One to postpone this event to 2022.\NWe very much hope to hold this event 23-26 June 2022. \N/**************************************************************************************************/\NThis stunning location of Lake Como has hosted many championships over the years, and AVAL-CDV is delighted to welcome the D-One fleet for the first time in 2021. \NThe North end of Lake Como benefits from a a thermal wind similar to Lake Garda, but usually less strong and considerably more shifty. Launching is down a wide slipway into a sheltered bay, and sailing is moved around the lake depending on wind direction bya very experienced local race team.\NGravedona is a small medieval town with charming but limited accomodation, bars and restaurants. Book early!\NWe will be sharing the club for first part of the event with the Rondar K6 keelboat fleet. This stunning location of Lake Como has hosted many championships over the years, and AVAL-CDV is delighted to welcome the D-One fleet for the first time in 2021.
The North end of Lake Como benefits from a a thermal wind similar to Lake Garda, but usually less strong and considerably more shifty. Launching is down a wide slipway into a sheltered bay, and sailing is moved around the lake depending on wind direction bya very experienced local race team.
Gravedona is a small medieval town with charming but limited accomodation, bars and restaurants. Book early!
We will be sharing the club for first part of the event with the Rondar K6 keelboat fleet. Anyone who wishes to arrive early can be sure of a warm welcome, and probably some great tune-up sailing.

Location:
Centro vela alto Lario (AVAL-CDV) is situated in Gravedona in the North Western corner of Lake Como in Northern Italy. This exceptionally friendly club has just had a bit of a facelift, with fantastic new changing/showering facilities, an enlarged and excellent slipway and 4 x 8 bed bunk rooms on site. Socials are still outside in the balmy evening weather.
Wind/Racing:
Like Lake Garda, the Northern end of Lake Como benefits from a thermal afternoon wind. When the sun is shining (most of the time in June), a wind of around 15-18 kts kicks in in early afternoon, so racing is scheduled to start at 1300hrs daily. The race courses are within 1 mile of launching. Launching is easy, off a recently enlarged slipway into calm waters, giving you time to sort yourself out before hitting the wind.

The club has 4 x 8-bedded bunk rooms, which are simple but very convenient and clean.
There is loads of camping within 1.5km. A lovely stroll or cycle ride along the lake side.

Don't forget the warm up Event in Dervio 21 22 may! Thanks to the availability of AVAL CDV Gravedona it will be possible to leave the boats at their club as early as May 20, in this way we will not have to move the boats from one location to another.
We will therefore be able to participate both in the warm up event in Dervio and then from 26 to 29 in the Gold Cup in Gravedona, leaving the boats in one place which is AVAL CDV Gravedona.

This stunning location of Lake Como has hosted many championships over the years, and AVAL-CDV is delighted to welcome the D-One fleet for the first time in 2022, after we were forced to postpone the 2021 event.
The North end of Lake Como benefits from a a thermal wind similar to Lake Garda, but usually less strong and considerably more shifty. Launching is down a wide slipway into a sheltered bay, and sailing is moved around the lake depending on wind direction bya very experienced local race team.
Gravedona is a small medieval town with charming but limited accomodation, bars and restaurants. Book early!
We will be sharing the club for first part of the event with the Rondar K6 keelboat fleet. Anyone who wishes to arrive early can be sure of a warm welcome, and probably some great tune-up sailing.

Centro vela alto Lario (AVAL-CDV) is situated in Gravedona in the North Western corner of Lake Como in Northern Italy. This exceptionally friendly club has just had a bit of a facelift, with fantastic new changing/showering facilities, an enlarged and excellent slipway and 4 x 8 bed bunk rooms on site. Socials are still outside in the balmy evening weather.
Wind/Racing:
Like Lake Garda, the Northern end of Lake Como benefits from a thermal afternoon wind. When the sun is shining (most of the time in June), a wind of around 15-18 kts kicks in in early afternoon, so racing is scheduled to start at 1300hrs daily. The race courses are within 1 mile of launching. Launching is easy, off a recently enlarged slipway into calm waters, giving you time to sort yourself out before hitting the wind.

The club has 4 x 8-bedded bunk rooms, which are simple but very convenient and clean.
There is loads of camping within 1.5km. A lovely stroll or cycle ride along the lake side.

The 2025 Gold Cup is an international four-day-event which will take place on lake Neusiedlersee, a steppe lake in the very east of Austria. The Austrian Nationals will take place at the same Location just a few days before.
Lake Neusiedlersee is a region famous for its wine but also for its wind and is known to offer perfect sailing conditions troughout the year.
Host club UYCNs is located at the village of Neusiedl am See. This location is well known for organizing big international events. The club offers excellent sailing facilities, a restaurant and a professional race commitee.
Lake Neusiedlersee is located near the capital city of Vienna and easy to reach from all directions.
